Hooded Jacket Recalled For Choking Hazard

product-liability-lawyerA hooded jacket that’s sold exclusively at Burlington Coat Factory has been recalled because it poses a strangulation hazard. These jackets are distributed by Hind Fashions, of New York N.Y.

The reason they pose a threat is because they are designed with a drawstring that runs through the hood. If this drawstring was to get snagged or caught on something it could pull tight and choke the wearer.

The jackets that are being recalled are boys hooded jackets with blue suede on the outside and a fur lining on the inside. The words “Hind Leather” can be found written on the tag at the inside neck. The sizes that were sold were size 6 to 12.

There is another jacket that falls under this recall. It is a black leather hooded jacket that also has drawstring and fur surrounding the hood. If you check the tag on the neck you should find the words “Lil Phat” printed inside. These jackeets were sold in the following sizes: small, medium, and large.

It’s unfortunate when an accident happens because of poorly designed clothing, which is why once a recall has been issued it’s illegal to sell or resell a recalled product. If your loved one has suffered a personal injury caused by a recalled product you should consider contacting a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer to find out more about your rights.
